Among the many interactive elements we created for the RMAD, a custom LAN-accessed digital signage system is one of the first elements the visitors see on entering the center. The staff can update the days events, upcoming events, multiple pages of pictures with captions and text information. Also included is a “Fun Facts” section, where interesting and unusual facts about the flora and fauna of the refuge are displayed.
In addtion to this we created multiple sound installations thorough out the exhibit area that recreate the soundscapes of the many eras that have been seen at that site, from pure prairie, to the first settlers, to the inner workings of arsenal itself during war time, to the current rehabilitated state.
The wartime sounds scape can be heard here: arsenal soundscape
